Breakfast is undoubtedly the most important meal of the day. Whether it is a bowl of cerealwith fruits or a plate of dosas and chutney, it is rightly said that everyonemust eat breakfast like a king. Here’s a list of what we consider to be the top8 breakfast food items for all!
FUN INDIAN BREAKFAST OPTIONS
Parathas: Youcan never go wrong with flavoursome paraathas, whether stuffed with veggies orsimply made from mixed flour. Add a dollop of butter and achaar and you’re goodto go!
Omelette: Thisis another delicious and healthy way to start your day. We’d suggest adding insome chopped onions , tomatoes and chillies to the batter. Grate some cheese.You won’t regret it!
Idlis/Dosas:Everybody loves a dish of steaming idlis! Served with coconut chutney orsambhar, this South Indian delight tastes best with a cup of strong filtercoffee, or kaapi as they call it in the south.
Poha: Whether itis kanda poha or batata poha, this meal has been part of a breakfast traditionin Maharashtra for as long as we can remember. For those of you who like a bitof added crunch, sprinkle some sev or farsan over your poha for a great taste.
Theplas: Ah! Theclassic Gujarati dish. Theplas make for a great meal, especially if you havesome for breakfast. What’s more, they taste great with anything at all be it abowl of curd, some ketchup, fresh green chutney or even some chunda.
SabudanaKhichdi: With the flavour of peanuts delicately woven in, sabudana khichdi is amust-have breakfast dish, especially for all those who have never tasted itbefore. Tip: It tastes amazing with some sweet curd.
Cereal: Whetherit is muesli or corn flakes, there is no doubt that a bowl of cereal is thehealthiest way to kickstart your day. Add in sliced fresh fruits or nuts andenjoy a tastier, healthier meal.
Toast: If you’renot feeling up for any of the above, you can always stick to a plateful of warmtoast. Slather on some butter, honey or jam and wash it down with a nice cup of hot tea or coffee.
